Local Produce

This morning I stopped by BiZi Farms for some fresh fruit. I was hoping for blackberries or raspberries, but no such luck. Instead I bought nectarines, plums and apricots. Grabbed a cucumber, since mine are still growing, and 2 ears of corn.

BiZi Farms, Vancouver, Wa

I'm kicking myself because they are the closest local farm store to me and I hadn't been there yet his year. I just looked at their website and they've upgraded it. I like seeing local shops get a website up and use it for practical info like hours and in this case, what's available during this season. They also have a pumpkin patch and fall events at the farm, check out their site: http://bizifarms.com/

Flowers and chickens outside the store.
There are two other local produce shops I like (I'm sure there are others I've yet to discover). They both have good websites as well.
  • Camas Produce in the Camas/Washougal area is located near Lacamas Lake. Since I've been working on my old house I did stop by there this summer. They are more like an actual grocery store with milk and bread, etc.  http://www.camasproduce.com/
  • Joe's Place Farms in Vancouver, just east of I-205. I have not been there in years and want to stop there this summer. They also have trees and wreathes after Thanksgiving.  http://www.joesplacefarms.com/
