Grow Write Guild

Grow Write Guild

First, I'd like to wish everyone a Happy First Day of Spring. I've tried to enjoy winter and ignore the incessant chant for spring to come. But, I am ready for spring even if it's just a day on the calendar. Today's wet, windy, cold weather is pretty normal here this time of year.

My daily calendar from Hay House reads, "Spring is here, and I am ready to blossom!" I feel like I'm shaking off the doldrums of winter both mentally and physically.

I've been looking to try something different and just stumbled across it on You Grow Girl's website. Gayla Trail is starting a creative writing club called Grow Write Guild. It is meant for gardeners and it's free. Every 2 weeks she'll provide a prompt and you can do whatever you'd like with it (journal, blog, link to her site). I've decided I'll post my response here on the blog. Anyone who'd like to join me is welcome.

Here's how she describes it:
The Grow Write Guild is a writing prompt series (created by Gayla Trail) to help those of us who want to write about our gardens and our gardening experiences, but are looking for a little help or a community of likeminded friends to provide support and a gentle kick in the pants.

Since starting this blog I've been looking for a "community of likeminded friends" and would welcome a "gentle kick in the pants" in the form of comments, e-mails or a Facebook post. I'll post my response to the prompts and will welcome any feedback (prefer praise). You don't have to be a gardener or even like vegetables to offer your own opinion.

Yesterday was the 1st prompt,
Grow Write Guild #1: My First Plant

I know, this topic seems too easy, she promises to mix things up, so we shall see how this progresses. I'll post my response in tomorrow's blog, then you can let me know what you think. Let me know if you've written your own.
